Product Description

The MPPT Solar Charge and Discharge Controller is designed to optimize the charging process of solar panels. MPPT, short for maximum power point tracking, is an advanced charging method that constantly monitors the power generation voltage of the solar panel in real time. By tracking the highest voltage and current values, this controller ensures that the battery is charged with maximum power output.

Unlike other controllers, the maximum power point tracking mode of this series is fully automatic and does not require user adjustment. As environmental conditions vary, the controller automatically tracks the panel's maximum power point, guaranteeing extraction of maximum energy from the solar array.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main benefit of an MPPT controller over PWM?
MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controllers are significantly more efficient, typically providing 20-30% more power to the battery by constantly tracking the optimal voltage and current from the solar panels.
Does the controller support different battery types?
Yes, it is compatible with Gel, AGM, Lead-Acid, and Lithium batteries. The default setting is Gel, but it can be adjusted to suit your specific battery chemistry.
Is the system voltage identification automatic?
Yes, the controller automatically identifies 12V and 24V systems, making installation straightforward and reducing the risk of manual setup errors.
What is the maximum PV input voltage supported?
The controller supports a maximum PV voltage of 100V (at -20ºC) and 90V (at 25ºC), allowing for versatile solar panel configurations.
Does it have an IP rating for outdoor protection?
This controller has an IP32 rating, which provides protection against solid objects larger than 2.5mm and direct sprays of water when tilted up to 15 degrees.
Can I monitor the controller remotely?
Yes, the unit features an RS485 communication port (RJ11), which can be used for data monitoring and system integration via compatible interfaces.
